Jennifer Lin works in IT service management, where the job is making services reliable and easy to depend on: incident and problem management, change management and continual improvement. On Confusion Corner Logistics she applies that lens to warehouses and fleets.

Her posts start from the handoff rather than the equipment. A conveyor moves a bad decision as efficiently as a good one; a warehouse system follows the item record it is given; a tracking page is only as useful as the answer it gives to “where is it right now?”. Most of the fixes she argues for are operational before they are technical: map the work as it actually happens, give the data an owner, and tell the customer when the plan changes.

She is studying toward the CISSP certification, with a particular interest in making security part of everyday operations. Away from work she hikes, cooks and walks new neighborhoods with a camera.
